We had a nice talk with a friend of our family who is a doctor here in Pittsburgh, and who has been a sort of "liaison" between the critical care doctors and us. He sat down with the entire family and explained that although things have been calm with dad's heart since Saturday, other parts of his body are getting worse, and in general things are not looking good. We are ready to leave it in dad's and God's hands - whatever they decide, we will accept. I'll try to keep everyone updated over the next few days as we wait.

We are so appreciative for the support everyone has given us during this extremely hard time for our family. Love you all!

  1. Thanks for the post Steph. We are all thinking of you all and praying for you. This is my favorite saying:

I said to the man at the gate of the year, "Give me a light that I may go forth into the unknown." And the man replied "Put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you bettter than a light, safer than a known way."

Please hug everyone for us. Love Christi

  3. Hi guys, thanks for the update. You are right, Steph, all you can do is leave it up to your father and God to decide what is best and then it's our job to figure out how to deal with the outcome. Remember, God doesn't give us anything we can't handle. Lots of prayers are being said now!

    lots of love!

  13. Tell your dad from me that's there's still too much good work to be done here and maybe God will agree. I know I was at death's door last September when I had emergency surgery and perodonitis, and I asked God to not take me yet, ans so He let me stay. Tell your dad he needs to ask for some extra time. All our love to you all. John, AJ & Company

  24. We are all praying deeply for David, and hoping for strength to return to his heart and turn this in a healing direction--because we all need him.

Do you know growing up--when Aunt Jo watched us both, at 105 Zoa Ave., apartment, I can't remember a time, when David and I ever fought?--that is what a nice kid he was, always mellow and kind

We praying so hard to God for the whole family, especially for our great cousin & nephew

  25. You are all on my mind continuously. On Sunday Met Maximos told the parish of St. Nicholas Youngstown about how special Fr. David is and how concerned he is for him and Fr. Anthony. St. Nicholas is Fr. Anthony's home parish. He asked everyone in the parish to add their prayers.
Eileen, Fr David, you and the girls are but a thought away. I pray that our Lord be compassionate and merciful. Fr David has much to do in the vineyard of our Lord and with his family.
Love in Christ, Phyllis Meshel Onest
